Slot machines, also known as fruit machines, are a type of casino gambling machine with three or more reels that spin when the button is pulled. The earliest attested fruit machine was devised by a man called Alfieri in Italy, and many of the first ones were made by inventor Charles Fey. The devices quickly spread around the world, and they came to be known as fruit machines because the symbols on their reels showed images of fruits such as cherries, oranges and lemons.
The evolution of this game led to its modern form; some now include video เว็บสล็อตแตกง่าย with digital animations or moving images instead of pictures on their reels. Fruit machines are still popular in casinos, and they are found in many pubs, bars and night clubs.
History of the game
The first person to invent a slot machine was an Italian man named Charles Fey. He moved to California in 1895 and began manufacturing machines with water wheels, levers and spinning reels. Although his invention was innovative, it remained unpopular for many years.
In 1905 a man called Charles DeMoulin patented a new type of mechanical slot machine that had three spinning reels instead of one. Two years later, he partnered with another inventor named Harry Harris, and the pair founded the Liberty Bell Slot Machine Company in Pennsylvania. The company began manufacturing the new machines and soon grew to be the leading manufacturer of slot machines in America.
In about 1909, inventor Charles Fey brought his invention for playing slot machines to the United States. His machines were not very popular here, but they were much more successful in Europe and Asia.
Many inventors have tried to improve on Charles Fey’s original design over the years. Perhaps the first that came close was a man called Frank “The Enchanter” Mills who designed a machine called “Melrose Park”. In this machine, one reel was stationary while the other two could spin independently. The device did not become successful, and Mills was forced to close his business in 1923.
One of the first machines that gained significant popularity among players was “The Liberty Bell” designed by David G. Evans and built by C.G. Hurd in 1925. It became quite popular in Chicago, Illinois and even introduced a new word into the English language: “jackpot”. The word was a derivative of the name of the company that manufactured it: The Liberty Bell Company.
Charles Fey and David G. Evans soon joined forces and founded the International Allied Novelty Company. They invented many new machines like “Gold Mine” and “Bank Night”, but perhaps one of their greatest innovations was the introduction of a lever that had to be pulled in order to stop the reels from spinning. This innovation made sure that players spent less time trying to set their machine in motion and more time playing it.
